Hi all,
I am happy to announce the technology preview for 2 concepts that we have been working on: updater and tuneup. The updater is a component that advices the user in keeping the computer up to date, and tuneup enables the user to speed up and clean up the computer with easy wizards.
The main goal of the technology preview is to get feedback from end users and fine-tune the concepts based on user feedback and needs. We would like to encourage everyone to install the applications and try those out!
For installing updater and tuneup on your home computer no key codes are required. The installer includes both components in one. You can register to the Updater & Tuneup Technology Preview program here: http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA/downloads/beta-programs/home-office/updater-and-tuneup/index.html
Here is a short list on know issues: • Compatible only with IS2010 and the latest Internet Security Technology Preview • A Restart is required after installation • Updater and tuneup need to be uninstalled separately. • If IS2010/Technology Preview is installed after the Updater & Tuneup Technology Preview, uninstallation of IS2010/Technology Preview is possible only after uninstallation of Updater & Tuneup • Tuneup user interface is slightly different from other F-Secure products. The software is best viewed at 1024 x 768 pixels.
More information is available in the release notes: http://download.f-secure.com/beta/updater-and-tuneup/tuneupdater_releasenotes.rtf
For sending feedback about the technology preview, please follow the instructions on the technology preview page.
Happy testing, Mikko

Thank you for trying out F-secure Updater and Tuneup. At the moment F-Secure Tuneup does not officially support Windows 7. The developers are still working to make it windows 7 compatible.

Hi DjYf, thanks for trying our F-Secure Updater & Tuneup Technology Preview.
We do not support French or other languages on this Technology Preview. This Technology Preview is available in English only. However, we would definitely support French in the final product.
By the way, any comments on the features of Updater & Tuneup?
Regards, Leonard Lee

Is it possible for the wizard (for both speed up and clean up) not to start until user initiate maybe by a button click. And list out the operation with check boxes on the side so user can click what operation to run for the wizard, some user might want to do a selective tune up or clean up. Just my 2 cents.

Hi, thank you for testing our Technology Preview.
Could you send us all the log files (*.log) under %PROGRAMFILES%\F-Secure\Updater\log folder.
To locate log folder, click Windows key + R key together, then enter "%PROGRAMFILES%\F-Secure\Updater\log" without the double quote. Click Enter.
Please email these logs to leonard (dot) lee (at) f-secure (dot) com.
We will look into this issue and then reply you through email.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback!
Regards, Leonard Lee
